OverView

Your documents and messages, read aloud — clearly, in large print, and on your terms.

Built for low vision, first

OverView is a macOS app for people who are blind or have low vision. Point your camera at a document and hear it read back in plain language. Open a bill, a letter, or a message and have it summarized, described, or reflowed into large, high-contrast print. Everything is voice-first, high-contrast, and generously sized — no squinting required.

What OverView does

Reads documents aloud

Scan a page with your camera and OverView reads it back, explains what it is, and pulls out the important details — amounts, dates, and what you may need to do next.

Correspondence, made accessible

PDFs, images, and text that arrive in Messages are gathered in one place. Have them read, summarized, described, or reformatted into large print — and hear who a message is from.

Large print, high contrast

Selectable high-contrast themes and adjustable text size across the whole app. Single-column, vertical layouts with generous spacing and giant, easy-to-hit controls.

Voice-first control

Push to talk and ask OverView to scan, read, summarize, or answer a question about what you are looking at. Spoken feedback keeps you oriented every step of the way.

Keeps your books in order

Connect your own QuickBooks Online company to log expenses from a scan and hear a spoken profit-and-loss summary. You approve every entry before it is sent.

Private by design

Reading, redaction, search, and speech happen on your Mac. Sensitive details are redacted before any optional cloud step, and OverView uses no advertising or tracking. Read the privacy policy.

Get the beta

OverView is in private beta for Apple Silicon Macs (macOS). Access is by invitation while we finish preparing for a wider release. If you would like to try it, request an invite and we will send you a private, notarized download link.
